My employment goal is to connect my education career with my EMS career. As a paramedic, both full time and part time, over the last 26 years, I have experienced the positive and negative effects of the EMS career. EMS was a passion from a young age. The positive effects have made me the person I am today. I am privileged to help people at their worst times. This has given me empathy, compassion, patience, and communication skills. The negative effects of EMS have given me an opportunity to turn those into positive outcomes by becoming an educator. As an educator, I share my knowledge to students and staff about emergencies and the EMS system. This has enabled me to give students a set of skills that will assist them in the future as medical professionals or life in general. I have gained experience in working with the public, working with different groups of individuals with various beliefs/situations and how to disseminate difficult information, making it understandable to different intelligence levels.
