I play volleyball five days a week for 10+ hours which is a highlight of my day in addition to coming to school early on Wednesday's for the middle schoolers at my school. I babysit afterschool to make money that goes towards my family.
I occasionally go away on weekends for debate or model congress trips at my school. For S.E.E.D which is an environmental club at my school, I volunteer at mulch fest, inter school's farmers markets, and participate in eco fest. I also am a head of Spence cooks where we volunteer at our schools kitchen and earlier this year we hosted a back sale, raising enough money for 2000+ meals for the food insecure in NYC through the organization Food Bank for NYC. I also am an active member of Asian Affinity where we recently presented for lunar new year and led workshops in which I taught 50+ students to make Kimbap (a Korean Dish).
I am also a part of a fellowship at my school called Art Scholars in which I dedicate my Tuesday mornings, and occasional Saturdays working on art or visiting museums (This also had extensive work in a timely manner).
This past August to early September I worked with Projekt NYC to pair with a first responder from 9/11 and create a piece of artwork based on their story and the process took 50+ hours total for a mixed media painting/sculpture. I was extremely dedicated while working on this piece, often staying at school until 8pm just to work on it. During my free periods at school, I find myself on the art floor working on various personal pieces.
