I have worked in many different job types and settings. I am easily adaptable and hard working. I communicate effectively with others, and am comfortable communicating with supervisors, coworkers, and customers. I am a punctual employee, and strive to be on time to work. I work hard in all settings, and do my best to put forth my best work skills. I am willing to learn all that I can to be trained into the job position.
I was given two "special" or large events to plan per term for the students of Treasure Valley. I spend my days preparing for upcoming events by contacting vendors, brainstorming with my team members about what activates to bring to campus, and taking feedback from students to make the activities enjoyable for them. I also was tasked with keeping records of spending, and logging daily hours. I communicated with students, faculty, and my team members frequently. I staffed events by creating a sign up sheet for my team to know when the event set up, and take down where. I strive tp negotiate favorable agreements with vendors and facilities to keep costs low and fulfill contract budget requirements. I also did my best to increase event attendance through targeted marketing efforts and engaging promotional materials.
I spent a summer as a seasonal Wildland Firefighter for the US Forest Service. My job position title was a Fire Prevention Technician. I started each day of work, by working out for approximately 1 hour with my fire crew. The rest of my job duties that followed included, public education of fire prevention, prevention sign maintenance in the local forests, patrolling campgrounds, and occasionally serving on a fire engine or hand crew fighting wildland fire. I took pride in my work ethic in putting in long days and hours while maintaining safety. I worked closely with my supervisor and my other members of my crew, establishing strong relationships and effective communication.
I spent the 2 summers working for Rodger Hicken. I start work at 7 am or early every morning moving irrigation pipe and usually finish around 10 am. I then would do anything my boss needed me to do. Sometimes that included pressure washing farming equipment or helping with his herd of cows. I would start work around June 1 and end mid September. I moved an average of 5 lines a day and the hours were inconsistent.
For a few years I worked for the ranch my dad was an area manager for. I worked more fully in the summertime and part time in the winter months. Work included, chasing cows, branding calves, fixing water, fixing fence, feeding cows and regular herd checks. The hours I worked were dependent on what was needed to be done that day. I was paid by the day not the hour so if I worked a half day I earned $25 and if I worked a full day I earned $50. For the last couple months of work I had a salary raise of $40 a half day and $80 a full day.
I spent part of the spring and all of the summer of 2020 moving irrigation pipe in the morning for Jason Harper I started moving pipe in April and ended in August. I would start around 6:30 am moving irrigation pipe and end around 8 am and then go straight to my other job. I earned $6.50 a line moving pipe and I moved 3 lines a day on average.
