Daily duties of a magistrate courtroom deputy includes but not limited to: Preparing/scheduling/filing/maintaining search warrants between the special agent/Judge/AUSA; Scheduling preliminary proceedings such as arraignments, initial appearances, attorney appointments, bond hearings and pretrial conferences between the Judge, attorneys, marshals, and the probation office; and handling of the Judge’s externs. (employment paperwork/set up and scheduling).
Indian CVB Courtroom Deputy for OKC area Docket (Indian Central Violation Bureau). Any violation that occurs on Indian land that is prosecuted by the government for a misdemeanor, I will process. These proceedings usually result in giving the defendant a misdemeanor charge on an information, which will in turn generate a magistrate case number.
Relief Courtroom Deputy relieves the U.S. District Courtroom deputies if they are on a vacation or ill; this includes empaneling jurors, holding jury trials, motion hearings (both civil and criminal), filing orders, maintaining and filing the hearing minutes.
CARE (Court Assisted Recovery Effort) Court Courtroom Deputy: maintains the records and hearings of CARE participants, keeping track of the CARE court budget, alerting the CARE team/Judges to participant’s phase ups and graduations.
