  • Feed fish using feed conversion ratios.
  • Maintain and operate Brook Trout facility.
  • Spawn Southern Appalachian Brook Trout as part of restoration efforts. Harvests eggs; disinfects the eggs; places the fry hatched from these eggs in incubator trays; feeds the fry until they reach a size which enables them to be stocked in local streams.
  • Use Electrofishing techniques to sample fish populations in local streams.
  • Routinely sample and grade fish in the hatchery.
  • Transport and stock Trout into stock Citico Creek, Green Cove Pond, and Tellico River weekly from March 1 – July 31.
  • Transport fish from other hatcheries to the Tellico Hatchery, traveling long distances on highways and narrow mountain roads.
