I worked in urgent care and primary care with Vanderbilt. My job description was to gathering patient information, verifying medications and allergies, perform a full set of vitals, and complete patient history. Put all information in the EMR system. I also handled prior authorizations, handling the incoming and outgoing messages in patients message baskets. I have worked both front desk and clinic as I am crossed trained. Front desk duties includes answering the phones, scheduling patients mange faxes.
Urgent care/walk-in clinic that was very busy. We seen a wide variety of patients. From the common cold to traumas. I was responsible for administering injections, give oral medications, perform EKGs, phlebotomist, assist in procedures.
This position was a contract position. I was only contracted to be with them for 3 months. I learned to cast extremities, apply DME, assist in injection, perform prior authorizations and scheduling procedures.

We would call a list of 1,000 patients every month and gather their vitals, provide recommendations and educate the patients on their diet and exercise. Provide resources for the patient that fit their needs. We would get them approved for certain medical equipment they needed.
