As a Stephen F. Austin State University alumni with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Sciences, my ultimate goal is to make a difference in the world, assisting children and those with intellectual and developmental disabilities with both their physical and mental wellbeing. My ultimate goal is to some day run my own practice that is well equipped to assist children and those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I currently hold the position of a direct support professional at a local rehabilitation facility equipped to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My professional skills include hands on experience with individuals of all ages, strong interpersonal communication, effective charting and documentation, and assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities with all of their daily needs. This role has allowed me to refine my strategic planning, time management abilities, and providing client services in a wide variety of fields, such as psychology rehabilitation while actively contributing to community service.
