Residential assistants are tasked with managing tens of residents, conducting routine check-ins and forming real bonds. We were responsible for planning, setting up, and hosting events for residents three times a month. Submitting purchase orders, creating fliers, and advertising the events to residents. In addition, we were required to perform tasks at the front desk, such as answering phones and phone banking, receiving and processing incoming mail, and assisting any residents at the desk.
Being the vice chair of the Auditing and Budgeting Committee, I was responsible for taking meeting minutes for every meeting. In the fall, the committee handled the auditing of over 30 registered student organizations. Managed allocating and revising the budget for the new fiscal year, including going over budget proposals from each registered student organizations.
Being in Democracy Summer was an unforgettable experience. Online lectures were given from guests such as House Minority Leader Jeffries, Representative Raskin, and many other speakers. With our partnered campaigns, we are tasked with knocking doors, phone banking, and many other acts of community service.
