- As a retransmission operator, the responsible for maintaining communication links between units that were too far apart to communicate directly. Achieved this by connecting two radios to provide automatic retransmission of signals between two other radios. With vast experience in radio retransmission, was able to flawlessly set up Radio Sets AN/VRC-45 and AN/VRC-49, which were equipped with Radio Set Control C-2299/VRC or RETRANS-Control C-10374/VRC for secure/non-secure-retransmission.
- With careful frequency selection, I was able to prevent interference, and the retransmission site radios were labeled as retransmission radios 2 and 3, while the distant radios were terminal radios 1 and 4. After setup, seamless communications proceeded automatically on a push-to-talk basis between the terminal radios. This ensured that communication was maintained between units, even when direct communication was not possible due to distance.
