METHODS

• Implements lesson plans and evaluates student learning based on data points collected over time
• Successfully manages a classroom during instruction, group work and independent assessment time
• Effectively teaches within CCSS and NGSS
• Utilizes and employs criterion-referenced strategies
• Aligning instruction to the learning standards and outcomes so all students know the learning targets and their progress to them
• Uses knowledge of psychology to provide optimal learning opportunities and to use research based strategies for motivation and building relationships

MATH

• Effectively uses manipulatives and technology to support mathematical understanding in a variety of modes
• Coordinates classroom tasks and discussions that promotes investigation and growth of mathematical ideas
• Uses curriculum materials with fidelity and understands pacing plans Specific experience using Eureka, iReady, and Ready Math

LITERACY

• Plans and teaches a variety of research-based lessons using the writing process, writing content, reading/writing connection, comprehension and spelling/word study
• Understands various ways to create a literate environment

• Includes components of effective literacy instruction such as listening, speaking and observational skills
• Uses a variety of strategies beneficial to English Learners

SOCIAL STUDIES

• Use of integrated lessons, culturally-affirming activities, classroom discussion, decision making, concept development, inquiry-based learning, technology and literature-based activities, and roleplay
• Provides social justice learning opportunities

SCIENCE

• Uses standards and curriculum to organize lessons that integrate disciplinary core ideas, science and engineering practices, and crosscutting concepts
• Uses natural phenomenons as hooks for lessons and carries the theme throughout units
