ARCH Language Network is a language interpreting and translation agency based in St. Paul, with additional offices throughout Minnesota. We provide interpreting services to hospitals, clinics, legal & social service environments. We are currently looking for a part-time Staff Interpreter for the language Somali.
  
DUTIES
  
You will be responsible for reporting to work at one of our customer's facility located in Saint Paul, MN 55101
  
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  
1. Abide by the job duties and responsibilities as an in-house interpreter stated in the ARCH policy and procedure.
  
2.Provide interpreting services as an ARCH staff interpreter
  
3.Assist caseworkers with language needs including appointment setting, public assistance program interviews, adult and children's mental health, chemical dependency assessment, child and vulnerable adult protection, foster care and daycare licensing, and services for the development disabled
  
4.Review all daily scheduled appointments and report to the assigned cases at or slightly prior to the scheduled time as assigned by the caseworkers
  
5. Answer incoming calls from LEP Clients, caseworkers and lobby staff about interpreting and translation needs.
  
QUALIFICATIONS
  
Must demonstrate fluency in English and Somali
  
Successfully pass language proficiency testing
  
Pass ARCH language competency screening and terminology test
  
Effective time management
  
Professional demeanor and appearance
  
Medical or legal interpreter training/experience preferred
  
Awareness of the Code of Ethics and Standard of Practice
  
Completed Immunization Records
  
Proof of citizenship or valid work permit
  
Reliable transportation
  
Department of Health Roster is required
  
Bridging the Gap (BTG) or The Community Interpreter (TCI) training preferred but not required
  
High School or GED required Bachelor Degree preferred
  
Basic computer knowledge with the ability to type at least 35 wpm
