Receive and process ad valorem tax exemptions for religious and charitable organizations.
- Research the organization, make sure all supporting documentation is submitted and verify the usage.
- Check the usage with the OK Constitution and OK Statutes regarding exemptions
- Reach out to the contact person if there are any questions or need additional information. Arrange for an appraiser to visit the organization if needed.
- If approved, send upstairs for value to be removed, put a note in the system, code and send to be scanned. If not approved. send a denial letter and have the application scanned in the records.
Complete tax roll corrections submitted by various clerks for both real and personal property.
- verify the tax roll correction sheet matches the Treasurer's information and the current deed of record
- make sure all the necessary supporting documentation is attached
- prepare and mail petitions
- if corrections are for clerical errors or omitted property, verify the same information
- Once a month gather all completed corrections, clericals and omitted to prepare for the Board of Tax Roll Corrections. Submit the information to the board, answer any questions and once approved, deliver the paperwork to the OK Treasurer.
- Close out the corrections in the system.
Answer phones when needed and assist taxpayers
- Collected, validated, and distributed information to employees.
