My goal is to find an summer opportunity to enjoy sports, friends, peers to develop my leadership skills. Teaching kids surfing allows me share a sport that has impacted my life from the very beginning. Going for a kid myself just learning to stand on a board, to teaching those vary skills to kids just as interested as I am is such an amazing opportunity. As a camper who looked up to my amazing coaches at MBAC hopping to one day be by there side, to now having a chance to achieve that dream is empowering.
For 3 years I volunteered as a Leader in Training. From 2021-2023 I fine-tuned my skills within the surfing field and the MBAC environment. Prior to being a Leader in Training, I was a camper since 2012. As a camper I leapt at any opportunity to learn all the sports that I was offered. As an LIT I helped maintain a positive and safe camp environment. Through these years of experience, I accumulated skills such as:
Link Crew is a program that welcomes the 9th grade class on the first day of school as well as continues to support them throughout their first year of hight school, and show them what it means to be a Crusader. I was chosen to be a Link Crew Leader out of a large field of 11th and 12th grade applicants. I have been identified as a person at school who is kind, responsible, positive role model, possessing leadership qualities, and most importantly, has a desire to give back to my school community. HPR Queens is a daughter organization of HPR. Our mission is to promote good will, character, cultural knowledge, and acceptance throughout the San Diego community. With girls ages seven to nineteen, we serve the community and represent the cultures involved in the House of Pacific Relations. We are a 501(c)(3) organization comprised of 75 girls and 19 cultures of volunteers. With this organization we participate in:
