As Vice President of my Turning Point USA chapter, I work closely with chapter leadership, members, and the different ministries we collaborate with to help plan and organize events and activities. I communicate with ministry leaders to understand their needs, coordinate responsibilities, and make sure everyone has the support they need to accomplish their goals. Through this role, I have developed strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills while learning how to work with people from different backgrounds and perspectives. I also focus on creating a welcoming environment where members feel comfortable getting involved, building connections, and contributing to our community.
Being away from home has taught me how to manage my time, balance academics with my personal life, and take responsibility for my own decisions. Getting involved on campus has also pushed me outside of my comfort zone and given me opportunities to work with different people, take on leadership roles, and contribute to my community. Through these experiences, I have learned how important communication, accountability, and being dependable are when others are relying on you. College has shown me that I am capable of taking on greater responsibilities, and I believe the RA position would allow me to continue growing while using the skills I have developed to support and connect with other students
