Work History

Independent Researcher

FSU Honors In The Major Program
12.2022 - 05.2024
  • The primary objective was in researching and investigating the conformational changes that proteins undergo when exposed to oil/water and hydrophobic interfaces.
  • Developed skills in emulsion preparation, MATLAB, microscopic imaging, NMR analysis, and technical writing to conduct this research.
  • Worked independently on formal research proposals, a prospectus, a scientific thesis paper, and a thesis defense presentation that was delivered to and approved by a Ph.D committee.

Research and Development Team Member

VySpine Spinal Implant R&D Project
08.2023 - 04.2024
  • Worked to develop a surface treatment to improve VySpine's PEKK based spinal implants' osseointegration and osteoinduction properties.
  • Developed thorough understanding of the regulatory landscape for medical device submissions while demonstrating proficiency in generating relevant reports (i.e., Mock 510k submission, Design for Manufacturing reports) and conducting regulatory research.
  • Collaborated with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to execute the project.

Research/Laboratory Assistant

MAGLAB Research Experience for Undergraduates Internship
05.2023 - 08.2023
  • Designed and conducted quantitative research on the behaviors of protein adsorption at hydrophobic interfaces.
  • Findings were delivered through a technical presentation to a variety of judges, graduate students, and industry professionals.

Leadership Council Member

Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society
10.2022 - 03.2023
  • Responsible for event planning and execution of the annual PES Induction Ceremony by working to: contact, delegate, and direct volunteers as well as being responsible for the procurement of the venues, talent, decorators, and caterers.
  • Curated shared Excel and Google sheets to help document progress, maintain organization, and keep communication between other council members.
