I was able to test for Journeyman lineman about 5 months early due to having the skill set and knowledge to progress with ease. Under the direction of my crew leaders i was able to perform all First class lineman duties safely with ease. This includes installation, maintaining, emergency work, and anything in between on the distribution side of our electric system.
During this time I was able to progress from an apprentice, line tech III, line tech II, and then line tech I. During this apprentice ship I was able to learn many different techniques of overhead and underground linework. Here as I was able to work safely with no issues or concerns from my peers. I was able to hone in skills that would carry me through my time in the field and now as line supervisor.
