Diplomatic Technology (DT) & Diplomatic Mail Room Summer Hire
2 Months
U.S. Embassy Seoul | 06.2024 - 08.2024
Several times a week, I couriered Diplomatic Notes and Ambassador’s notes to and from designated foreign embassies' drop-off boxes within the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, I couriered Diplomatic Pouch several times weekly from the Dragon Hill Lodge’s Army Post Office to the U.S. Embassy, where Motorpool transported me to and from (MOFA) and the Army Post Office. I was also tasked with transporting Internal Office Mail to designated section boxes within the Diplomatic Post Office. Additionally, that summer I worked in the U.S. Embassy Chancery and Annex in General Diplomatic Technology. I learned applied hands-on experience such as assisting with IT support, analogues, cross section Printer inventory and maintenance along with telecommunications equipment decommissioning. These experiences developed accountability and precision in assisting with Embassy operations and supporting the overall broader Diplomatic U.S. Mission to South Korea.

Professional Awards & Volunteer Experience
249th Marine Corps Ball, Seoul, South Korea Volunteer: In November 2024, I served as a Receptionist for the 2024 Seoul Marine Ball, greeting and checking in foreign dignitaries, including foreign ambassadors and Deputy Chiefs of Mission, as well as U.S. diplomats and U.S. and Korean military personnel. I developed strong cross-cultural communication skills, including using my Japanese language skills to assist notable guests such as the Japanese Ambassador, where my representational language skills directly supported professional engagement with U.S. diplomatic allies within the Indo-Pacific region. My cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills helped ensure a smooth transition for guests and supported our broader diplomatic engagement with ROK and international counterparts.
U.S. Embassy, Seoul (IDR) Independence Day Reception Event Volunteer: I was an Event Greeter at the U.S Embassy Seoul's Independence Day Reception (IDR) Event held at the Hyatt Hotel, where I displayed cross-cultural sensitivity and nonverbal communication to better assist and guide U.S. diplomats and Foreign ambassadors towards the main venue, supporting the U.S's larger diplomatic mission inside the Republic of Korea.
Certificate of Appreciation Award: I was a summer hire at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, South Korea, where I worked under the Diplomatic Technology (DT) section in the Diplomatic Mail Room. Due to temporary staffing issues, I received a "Certificate of Appreciation" directly from the U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, Philip S. Goldberg, "For jointly running the Embassy's entire mail service flawlessly, starting on their second day of work."
Yongsan International School of Seoul ISS Rotary Club Cofounder: In February 2024, during my senior year, my friends and I spearheaded community advocacy through in-person outreach, securing funding grants for suicide prevention initiatives and donations of clothing and blankets for impoverished Korean elders.
