I've worked in cardiology for the past 14 years, of those 14 years the past 10 years I worked with Dr. Michael Rotenberg. We rounded at both Baptist Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospital. My duties included: reviewing patients' charts and also visiting with the patient, and gathering and documenting their history and present illness, labs, vitals signs, imaging, and all other pertinent information. I was also responsible for scheduling all outpatient and inpatient procedures, which included completing order forms that were reviewed and signed by the physician, as well as going over instructions with the patient. After rounds, we would see patients in the office, I was Dr. Rotenberg's only nurse, so my duties also included rooming patients, which included reviewing medications, updating HPI, obtaining vital signs, and PT/INR finger sticks/Coumadin management under the supervision of the physician. In addition, I also managed all nurse calls, including prescription refills etc.
