  • Ensured the development, implementation, management and evaluation of all operational, quality, and financial areas of the Homeless Outreach Medical Service (HOMES) program, a HRSA 303(h) Health Care for the Homeless Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
  • Serves approximately over 8,000 families, individuals, children, youth, and veterans at risk of or experiencing homelessness, as well as the formerly homeless at over 25 locations through three fixed sites, four mobile medical clinics, and one mobile dental clinic
  • Locations include homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, housing programs, drug treatment programs, day programs, and social service centers
  • Provides more than 35,000 visits through primary care (acute, chronic, and preventive care, including well-child visits, family planning, immunizations), comprehensive dental services, communicable disease testing and treatment, substance use disorder services, and a transgender clinic
  • Secured funding for the implementation of the first medication assisted treatment program in primary care at Parkland and PreP treatment
  • Collaborated with Dallas County to open Dallas Deflects, a treatment center for individuals with low-level, non-violent misdemeanor offenses from entering the criminal justice system
  • Treatment will reduce costs associated with repeatedly incarcerating individuals suffering from mental illness and reduce the number of emergency psychiatric visits from these individuals
