As a Transportation Security Officer for Trailboss Enterprise, we occasionally worked with local, county and state officials; however, worked closely and directly with Ice, Customs and our main contractor, the United States Border Patrol. Although we were also technically considered first responders, we collaborated with law enforcement to make sure we were positioned throughout the valley, to respond quickly and to the needs of the Border Patrol agents. Being that we were based out of Harlingen, our dispatch would send us anywhere between Laredo, Coastal Bend and back to Brownsville. We were asked to either stand by at a designated area or until traffic needed to be moved and relocated to another location. Once traffic was in our custody, we performed pat-downs to look for unauthorized materials and weapons that the subjects might have brought with them. Once the subject was loaded into the van/bus, we would safely transport them to their next location, at the request of Border Patrol, all while monitoring the detainees through the vehicles CVV system.

As a Detention Officer for El Valle Detention Facility, we were responsible for the safety and security of the detainees that were in our custody and brought into our facility. Our duties were to supervise inmate activities to ensure safety and compliance with facility regulations, conduct thorough inspections of premises to identify security breaches or potential hazards, implement conflict resolution techniques to de-escalate tense situations among detainees, maintain accurate documentation of incidents, ensuring legal compliance and accountability and respond swiftly to emergency situations with appropriate use of force when necessary to protect both inmates'' well-being and facility security.

Our duties were to maintain order and structure within a pod, which was designated to us for that day. From the beginning of our shift, we had to be able to communicate with the detainees and make sure they were well taken care of and any questions they maybe have had were answered. Whether it was legal, medial or even recreational, we were responsible for checking them out of their designated pod and having them escorted to their destination and back. As an officer, we were responsible for making sure that every detainee was accounted for at all times of the day.

• As a United State Border Patrol Trainee, we had to undergo the physical and mental preparation that was needed for an agent to properly and safely secure the countries boarders. During my time at the agency, we were taught the proper forms of speaking Spanish with the illegals, to make sure we are able to communicate with them, to the best of our abilities. From there, we were also taught the immigration law, to correctly and legally communicate, as well as resolve any problems with an illegal, we may have encountered. Another very critical importance at the academy was to stay physically healthy, so we could defend ourselves, if necessary. Overall, we were taught the best possible ways to communicate with an individual, so we can deescalate any situation, before we were forced to use physical force, which we were also taught.

• As a Fire/Safety Watch at the Three Rivers Oil Refinery, I was highly responsible for mine and my fellow employees safety. While my coworkers were working, I was responsible for checking and maintaining the proper and safe air quality, to make sure they could do their work, without putting themselves in grave danger.

• My duties as a security officer at Hot Shots Restaurants (Bar) was to maintain the safety of the patrons and employees at the establishment. I was responsible for vetting patrons prior to entering the establishment. My duties included reviewing documents of identification to establish eligibility. My duties also included the safety of the employees at all times. I coordinated with local law enforcement when assistance was needed for unruly conduct of patrons. • As a College Intern at the Cameron Country Constables office in San Benito, Texas. I, was responsible for managing necessary paperwork for the offices of the Constable and Justice of the Peace Judge Honorable Jesus T. "Chuy" Garcia Jr and Judge Honorable David Garcia. Through my dedication and commitment to duty I was promoted and earned the privilege to assist police officers during their tour of duty. I would assist the patrol officer in the deployment of his duties in the jurisdiction of Precinct 3. My duties included serving warrants, subpoenas, and restraining orders. I also provided assistance during vehicle traffic stops.

• My duties with the Texas Roadhouse Restaurant Company included maintaining a safe area of operation for myself and fellow co-workers. I managed my designed area and kept it operational per company standards. I maintained my area safe and free of hazards. I maintained all company equipment assigned to me and my area of responsibility. I operated all company equipment according to company standards. I assisted patrons of the establishment with their concerns and addressed any deficiencies within my area of responsibility.
