- As an Asset Protection Investigator, I am partially in charge of investigating accident claims and providing claim adjusters with all evidence/information they need. I am also responsible for the detainment and prosecution of shoplifters. I also investigate internal theft. I have personally reported $44,723.03 in theft with 18 closed internals with myself as lead investigator since I have been in role. While performing my duties I am also looking for any potential process errors on the sales floor or in the back room that need to be addressed. In collaboration with the other members of the AP team we create effective plans to help bring down the number of accidents claims in the facility. I partially oversee merchandise protection execution as well as tour the execution throughout the store to ensure it is being maintained and executed properly. As a team, the AP team here at the store ensures all the monthly and weekly compliance tasks are completed on time, such as fire exit sign off, emergency light sign off, security tour, safety assessment, fire extinguishers, hazardous waste management area inspection, and eye wash station inspection. I check different reports daily such as the key box report to make sure all keys are accounted for per AP-05. I participate in AP Blitz’s and attend inventories when requested by MAPM Guy Stapp. I provide courtroom testimony when needed. I assist the front end team when they need help locating cash long and shorts.
