Part-Time Experience

Various
10.2009 - Current

I began tutoring and mentoring at-risk youth at age 17 as a volunteer from October 2009 to May 2010. During undergrad, I worked for the YMCA’s 21st Century program from September 2011 to October 2013. After graduating from undergrad, I moved to Orlando, FL and worked as an AmeriCorps Member for the Pathways to Success program (sponsored by United Way of Central Florida) from August to December 2014. As an AmeriCorps member I tutored low-income, high school students in Algebra II who were performing poorly academically; and also provided college counseling and mentorship. While living in Savannah, Georgia, I owned and operated a business (from May 2016 to February 2020) that offered K-12 tutoring in math, reading and ELA; GED prep and test registration assistance; and college and career counseling assisting students with figuring out what they wanted to do and applying for college and jobs. That business was reestablished in March 2022 in Pembroke, Pines, FL.
