My clothing store, 'Chicago Collection,' was in business for nearly 30 years. As the store owner, I was responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operation of running a business: purchasing merchandise, organizing the store layout, managing the financial accounts, taking inventory, promoting sales, and, most importantly, working with customers. My store was a popular gathering place for the Vietnamese American community within and beyond San Jose, and I got to know many of my customers very personally. As an entrepreneur, I believe that the successes of my career were founded upon my values of patience, persistence, teamwork, and remaining adaptable to change.
