I moved to Colorado in 1989, my first job was at a bar called Yesterdays, I started as the bouncer, then worked my was up to barback and then to bartender. It was long time ago, so I don't remember that dates, but I believe I worked there for a year. My next job was at Gunther Toodys as a bartender and a server. I worked there for about 8 months. My next job was at Deluxe Carpet cleaning in Arvada. I started out as a telemarketer, then was promoted to assistant manager and then to manager. I managed that store for a year and got burned out and quit. I was later hired back by the same employer to travel around the country to his different franchises to troubleshoot and help them back on the right track. I then went to his Englewood store as an assistant manager and then took over as manager. I worked there about a year and a half, got burned out and quit. I took about six months off and then came back as the bookkeeper doing payroll and contractor billing, that was circa 9/11 as I was at the office when that happened. That particular job lasted about a year and then he went bankrupt. After that he had a no-compete claus and started up a blind cleaning business. I started doing payroll for four different carpet cleaning stores ( they were ex-employees from the original carpet cleaning business ). That job lasted until they went out of business, about a year. Then I started working for the same employer in his blind cleaning business. I was going door to door with brochures in newly built neighborhoods to try and get leads. It wasn't really working out so well, so I bowed out gracefully. Then he started up another carpet cleaning company in Wheatridge. I worked in the front office organizing the contractor routes in the mornings. The next job was the current one.
OK, that was my job title, but I am not a bookkeeper in the real sense of that word. I used Intuit and Gusto to do payroll and contractor billing and pay rent. I paid the Excel bill via the company bank account. I checked to see what outstanding deposits the contractors had every morning and then asked them to go to the bank. I also took calls from the contractors if they could not reach the office to help with any questions they had as I have over 30 years' experience in the carpet cleaning industry. I started working for this employer back in 1991, mostly on, with some large gaps in between. I started out as a telemarketer and then as assistant manager and then as manager. I have great customer service skills.
