As the most senior Outside Plant Technician I was relied on to train and help the rest of my coworkers learn day to day splicing as well as construction jobs. I splice ADSS cable along with strand and lash also deal with ribbon and loose tube fiber. I climb poles and operate a bucket truck daily. We test and troubleshoot fiber using an OTDR and light meter/power source.
At Pomeroy Services I started my fiber optic career. We spliced and pulled in new cable and responded to many cut cables. This is where I learned to operate an OTDR and light meter/power source.
I installed new wire in new construction homes also remodels. Placing conduit in ditches and installing new light fixtures, appliances, and anything else the customer needed.
