I served four years as a non-commissioned officer as the rank of corporal in the US Marine Corps. I received my CNA in July of 2023 and have spent the last year working in the career field. Patient Care Technician

During my time as a Patient Care Technician (CNA) in perioperations department at Sky Ridge Medical Center, I perform the following:

  • Initial surgery admissions to include preop vitals, recording of patients medical history, administration of 12 lead EKGs, sample collections for BGL and urine pregnancy tests, and meeting the overall patient comfort needs.
  • Aiding nurses in the overall care of patients in the PACU setting to include assisting in rapids / codes, monitoring vitals, removing IVs for discharge, and transporting patients via stretchers and wheelchairs to floor rooms or the patients vehicle.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of both preop and PACU to include cleaning bays, stretchers, and cleaning / changing patients, and restocking equipment used.
  • Build report with patients to meet their needs in the surgical setting through communication and comfort support techniques.
  • Aid in cleaning and turnover of operating rooms to include set up / break down of anesthesia station, endoscopy scopes and the overall operating room.
