I would register patients to be seen as they came into the Emergency room as well as verifying their information and getting consent before going through the account in the system and correcting any changes so the patient can be billed. I did the same for any outpatient appointments like ultrasounds, Xrays, MRI’s for example. I would also go through and pre-register the outpatient accounts to catch any mistakes, changes, or find an estimate for the appointment before the day of. The switchboard also came through my department so any calls coming into the hospital I would answer and help connect them to the proper location or answer questions that I’m able to as well as respond to any medical codes and alert the proper people over the loud speaker and page the teams that respond to those codes that may not be in the building.
