I was born with a debilitating blood platelet disorder that eventually prevented me from attending public school or taking part in sports or other activities. I was hospitalized numerous times with dangerously low platelets until in 2017 I received my first bone marrow transplant in Los Angeles, CA. Unfortunately, that transplant was not successful. My health continued to deteriorate until in 2019 I was accepted into a study at NIH in Bethesda, MD. That transplant was successful, and I have a clean bill of health. This experience has made me resilient with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
