I have worked for Fareway for almost Eighteen years. I started as a Sophmore in high school back in 06 and have continued on ever since. I have been to five different stores and I have learned so many different skills in each location that have helped me with my position I have now. Being with this company I have been able to have strong people skills.

  • I verify all the items in the store to make sure they are ringing up the correct price.
  • I create and edit sign batches for the weekly and monthly ads. Plus, I create a tag batch every week to hang up price changes.
  • Any new items that come off our truck, I make sure they are slotted in the right spot and make sure the product is turned on in the system.
  • Every so often, I will remap the store. That way, I know every item in the store has a location, making it easy to find for ourselves and our employees who do our online shopping.
  • Every day, I go through invoices from our different vendors and outside vendors, making sure costs are correct or adjusted, and pricing is correct.
  • I check emails every day for any price corrections, the final copy of the ad to print, promo calendars to know what is on good deal, or any other forms of communication through corporate or other vendors that have any display changes or new products coming in.
  • I also do some ordering throughout the store, such as candy, tobacco, or anything else the managers need.
  • I answer phone calls to help customers.
  • I also call retail support at times when computers break down or registers need fixing.
