After joining Texas Tech in 2001, I helped implement LPR (License Plate Recognition) for the University. This revolutionized parking enforcement as we know it today. I joined ACT (Association for Commuter Transportation) in 2011. I served as a member for 2 years before going through their Leadership Academy in 2013. In 2020 I earned my CPP (Certified Parking Professional) certification while with our department. I served as chair of the transportation committee for the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce from 2022-2023. Under my guidance, Texas Tech achieved Silver status as a Bicycle Friendly University. In 2018, I was awarded a national award for a Safe Ride program I started at Texas Tech called Raider Ride. This program took me 2 1/2 years to implement. This was the first Safe Ride service of its type in the country. I then was elected as president of the Red River chapter of that same association in 2016.I served in that position for 2 years, while earning Chapter of the year award in 2017. We were able to turn the chapter around and make it viable to the association. Also, in 2018 I was given the President’s award for my work with the Red River Chapter of ACT. I then was elected to the National Board of Directors of ACT in 2018. I served in this position for 4 years, helping the association gain much needed ground in the transportation demand management industry. I was a key piece in bringing the industry the very first TDM certification to life. I served on a SME (subject matter expert) committee to initiate that goal. I have a wealth of knowledge in both the parking and transportation industries, gained over 22 years in the business.
