This morning I received a call from an employee asking me to come to Craig’s office so she could speak with me. Of course, I said yes and when I got there Craig was as red faced as he could possibly be – the employee (Gloria) said he asked her not to call me, said it wasn’t necessary, but, she insisted. She went on to literally rave about him and she was pretty emotional. Talked about his commitment to helping employees no matter what they needed, said she has been coming to him for assistance for over eight years now, she tells other employees to seek him out. Said he is compassionate, shows empathy for (custodial service) employees that have difficulty reading, and writing to the extent they have to complete claim and enrollment forms.
She insisted I share how appreciative she is that we have someone here that takes the time to help employees no matter the need or how busy they are with other things, said she understands this year there isn’t money for raises, but, if I could please share with leadership the value he brings to the job and how much he deserves to be recognized for it !!
I am glad to write up a customer service is key nomination for him and send it to you to recognize his effort – unless you all have another form of recognition for outstanding customer service you prefer to use.
