Career and Recruiting Coordinator:
· Works to identify and recruit quality applicants
· Guides anywhere from 30- 90 applicants through a 3-month hiring process
· Leads and manages Buncombe County Internship Program which can consist of 5 interns per semester with up to 15 total interns per year
· Designed and manages the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Hire-to-Basic Law Enforcement Training program
· Teaches Basic Law Enforcement Training and Communication Courses as a means of connecting with students
· Makes connections with potential new candidates via hiring events, career fairs, phone calls and other means of communication
· Uses community outreach opportunities to improve the relationship between the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and the community
· Acts as a mentor to new and first year hires in an effort to identify needs and establish a pathway to success for new hires.
· Identifies retention issues and develops an action plan to reduce these issues
· Identifies areas of low morale within the agency and offer solutions to make improvements.
