  • At O'Connell Children's Shelter, residential Interns oversee making sure the kids and young people in their care are safe and healthy
  • We help residents manage daily routines and acquire life skills by offering mentorship, emotional support, and supervision
  • Using trauma-informed care practices, staff members enforce shelter rules, promote positive relationships, and help resolve conflicts
  • In addition to facilitating recreational and educational activities, they work in tandem with social workers and other professionals to support each resident's unique needs and objectives
  • Residential staff members are also trained to effectively manage crisis situations and help with family engagement and documentation
