Damian Hernandez

Born in Miami, but raised in Ocala, Florida. My Cuban grandparents raised me, along with my sister and two cousins, making me grow up with a full house. Living in a rural town made me appreciate the environment and I spent most of my time at the park with friends playing one sport or another. While I originally wanted to become a baseball player as a kid, I quickly turned my focus to education since it was more reliable and I loved science. Was a part of the AICE program in high school and wanted to continue excelling even in college. As such, applied for the Honors college at FIU and was accepted into the program. Due to my family's financial situation and my efforts in school, I was able to receive full bright futures, allowing me to go to college without any financial worries.
