I took the role of Project Manager, being in charge of the day to day work, and the planning ahead , coordinating with subcontractors being in the heart of the action, is what absolutely without a doubt, makes me feel happy in this line of work.
I was mainly Focuses on field supervision and logistics, but Office work was an unexplored world to me. So i sat with my Management team and asked for a position as an Assistant Project manager. It was hard adapting to an office, not going to lie, but i guess i got used to it, to the point i learned to love it.
Ready Window, is the current Company that i work for. They've been my family for the past 5 years, this is the place were i learned every single system there is to know down here in miami florida. they gave me the opportunity to prove myself, that i was capable of run multiple projects at the same time. My responsibilities changed dramatically, from managing a single building with 1 crew, to multiple buildings with different schedules and multiple crews.
I joined GlassWall, at the time one of the biggest Glazing Companies in South Florida, this company provided a different angle in how i approach a new jobsite, as a Foreman i was in charge on 20 employees and had bigger responsibilities, i took it as an opportunity to Learn how to manage personal and learn the logistics of a Jobsite.
I became an Ironworker as soon as i arrived from Cuba, my father was an Ironworker and i followed. I am a very competitive person and i always tried to improve, as an apprentice i was in the bottom of the food chain, but through hard work i became one of the best apprentices in my year. This is were i learned how the construction system works, and this is were i met my mentors.
