Proven CDL A Driver with a track record of safe driving practices and exceptional route management skills, as demonstrated during my tenure at Sickels and Sons Farms Cattle Hauling. Known for a strong work ethic and mechanical knowledge, I excel in ensuring timely and secure deliveries. Achieved a dedicated route at Knight Transportation for outstanding customer service.
Transporting important livestock across the United States in a timely manner. This job uses organizational skills as well as time management to ensure the animals make in there safely. This employer relied on me to maintain the truck and trailer maintenance as well as schedule the loads with the farmers. I really hated to leave this Family As I have worked for them closely and with the farmers to which have grown to be part of our family. I left them due to my wife having our newborn little girl.
I oversaw maintenance for the full fleet of 24 company trucks and dispatched loads for our company trucks and many owner operators. When a driver had an emergency i would let him come home on his way thru town and I would hop in our extra truck to deliver the load after my shift to ensure our company continued good standing with our clients but also let our drivers know they are more than just a number to us. This job allowed me to use my leadership skills and helped me build my knowledge on how to grow a company.
Hauling Lime rock to central florida locations.
Left Company due to them being Bought out, So I decided to try local driving.
I was hired on as OTR but after only 6 months I had a run that sent me over to NM to a Arrons store for delivery. Apon my arrival the manager informed me that he was in a cast with broken leg and all but 1 other employee were out sick so it may take them awhile to unload. Despite the company rules of us not helping unload our trailers, I could not stand there and watch this man with a broken leg try to lift and move a couch and washer and dryers out of my 53ft trailer. Being as I always take accountability of my actions good or bad I informed customer i was not allowed but my morals could not let me watch this and I proceeded to unload the truck for them.
2 weeks later I walk into my DM office in Florida to which he asked me if I unloaded a my truck in NM. I told him the situation and told them I did and then he informed me that our corporate office was called from that manager praising what i did and our corporate office is offering me a dedicated route that would get me home weekly and every weekend.
Went to Prime to get my CDL. I went thru a 60k mile training program pass all my test with no issues and Ran OTR for few months to which I decided to leave due to not being able to get by the house but once every 5 to 6 weeks.
I am not 100% on the exact dates as it was long ago but I loved doing this kind of work. Working with customers all over and learning new trade.
