I have been in the IT industry for over 30 years, mostly working for companies with high profile clients such as AAA, Becton Dickinson, Walt Disney Resorts, Wells Fargo Bank, Vons, Delta Airlines, American Honda, Mazda USA, Target and The Burbank Unified School District to name a few. I have held certifications for most vendors at one time or another, including HP/Compaq, IBM/Lenovo, Dell, Toshiba, Xerox, Lexmark, Apple, etc. I have been A+ certified since CompTIA introduced the certification in 1994. My focus has been in the repair and service side mostly, but I've worked the desktop support side enough to know how to interact with end users, and to help them resolve most common desktop support issues such as use of applications, software updates and virus/spyware control. My Field range in the Southern California Region has been from San Diego up to Bakersfield and all areas in between. My knowledge and experience with servers, networks and POS has come mostly from "on the job training" and personal investigation and research, and I am a MCP in MS Networking Essentials. All in all, I am a well-rounded individual in the field of IT, and I believe I will make a valuable asset to any IT related organization, even more so if they are willing to invest in my education to enhance my capabilities in the industry.
With these companies I have participated on several short-term projects for either a flat fee or an hourly rate. These projects involve PC roll-outs/refresh, PC and peripheral repairs and service, POS systems, new installations and upgrades conducted by NCR and Fujitsu, for such clients as Wal-Mart, Staples and Trader Joe’s to name a few. Other cabling projects of network systems and telephony related equipment of both analog and VOIP configurations. Installed multimedia packages for Health Media Networks throughout Southern California.
