Includes cruise ship inspections and examinations for passengers seeking reentry into the U.S.
  • 7 months of volunteered TDY assignment to the Southwestern Border (Operation SWB San Ysidro, CA Port of Entry). Duties included primary and secondary inspections, practicing daily enforcement on the frontline such as searches, arrests, interviews for admissibility, vehicle inspections, findings of subject and narcotics smuggling, and using system checks to aid in admissibility decisions (Unified Secondary, Pedestrian, CSIS)
  • Experience in the Anti-Contraband Enforcement Team (ATCET) and Outbound Enforcement Team (OET). Assignments were to conduct examinations on contraband-targeted containers and shipments in both cargo yard and warehouse environments at the Los Angeles/Long Beach Seaport.
  • Experience on the Merchandise Enforcement Team. Duties and Responsibilities included understanding the various laws and regulations for cargo/trade. Utilizing the inner network of Import Specialists, Departments of Transportation, Consumer Product Safety Commission, and other government agencies (OGA) to determine the admissibility of commodities entering the United States.
  • Experience with Watch Commander Report for cargo/trade assignments and Team Lead responsibilities.
  • Attended multiple trainings that enhanced overall knowledge of trademarking (TMK), intellectual property rights (IPR), and product knowledge. Findings have been seizure of counterfeit goods, undervalued shipments, underpaid duties or duty evasion, commodity smuggling, rate advances, destruction, and re-exportation of goods.
  • Experienced in the Fines, Penalties, and Forfeitures department with case assignments through SEACATS, seizures, and collections with paralegal specialists.
