nfrastrucutre subcontractor for OTDA - Albany, NY BICS support specialist for New York State OTDA/ITS. I maintained and supported a network of 76 UNIX Alpha 800 servers located in every DSS site across NY State. The system ran on a Tru64 UNIX Version 5.1B-4 platform and utilized ASU. Managing and updating this system required a proficiency in UNIX shell scripting, C programming, MicroFocus COBOL programming, and various UNIX editors. I provided technical support to the customer and BICS operators in the field. I also supported the peripheral equipment to the servers which includes UMS1500 high-speed printers, LA424 impact printers and DEC Server 90M devices. I managed a team of 8 independent field technicians located throughout NY State. I scheduled their work tickets, oversaw their performance, and assured they met their SLA's. I would report this work to upper management on a bi-weekly basis. I was also responsible for documenting, streamlining, and updating our work protocols.
