Daniel A. Torza

• 2005 - 2010 Assigned to the Patrol Division of the Elmhurst Police Department where duties included immediate response to reported crimes, traffic enforcement, and community engagement.
• 2010 - 2015 - Assigned to the Community Oriented Policing Program (COPP Unit - Plainclothes) where my duties included the investigation of hundreds of felony offenses which included controlled substance/ narcotic offenses, money laundering, prostitution, robbery, and burglary offenses.
• 2010 -2021 - Member of the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force where I was assigned to investigate child exploitation offenses, including the illegal distribution, receipt/possession of child pornography, and child solicitation.
• 2015 -2021 - Detective in the investigations Division of the Elmhurst Police Department where I investigated a variety of misdemeanor/felony crimes which included financial, computer, and property crimes, robbery/burglaries, thefts, and homicides. Conducted thorough Employee Background investigations on potential employees for the City of Elmhurst.
• 2017 - 2021 - Member of the DuPage Major Crimes Task Force where I assisted with the investigations and interviews of suspects/witnesses in homicide cases. Provided forensic computer/cell phone analysis on major crimes.
• 2021 - Present, Assigned to Patrol Division and Tactical Patrol Officer where additional duties include instruction to the department in Defensive Tactics, Use of Force, Rapid Response, Traffic Stops, Trauma Care, and Non-lethal weapons. Served with Emergency Response Team (ERT/SWAT) since 2010.

Instruct law enforcement recruits in defensive tactics techniques, including hand-to-hand combat, weapon retention, use of force decision making, and arrest control procedures.

Provided security for the staff and assets of the Chicago Bears organization at games and special events.

Oversaw the planning, implementation, and tracking of various consumer, defense, and industrial product development programs.
