In the early 2000’s John Janulis and I crossed paths while he was working at a vegan café I would frequent. At the time I was a server and not too long after John and friends would open The Bye and Bye, immediately I was a regular at this cool neighborhood vegan bar. Loving this fun, lively watering hole I was longing to work at a spot like this. A couple years after opening they venture into their second bar, The Sweet Hereafter in 2011, thus I’m given the opportunity to move into a bartending position at this cool new bar. Starting at both The Bye and Bye and The Sweet Hereafter then after about a year sticking in my neighborhood at The Bye and Bye solely until the pandemic hit. I soon hear about something new in Palm Springs, Bar Cecil, pack up and south we came. What a journey, now it’s time for a change outside the desert.
