Currently, I am a Speech Language Pathologist employed primarily through the Hawaii State Department of Education, Windward District. At my placement, I work with the pediatric population (ages 3 - 12) and see a high number of students with Autism and developmental disabilities impacting verbal speech. As a result, I trial, provide, and implement augmentative alternative communication (AAC) frequently and I feel strongly about its efficacy in improving the language and overall lives of children on my caseload.
