  • Supervised daily operations among city employees and contractors, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficient workflow management.
  • Trained and mentored Lineworker and Apprentice's, fostering skill development and enhancing overall performance.

  • Work closely with engineering department on many levels: Mentor designers in creating and drawing overhead and underground jobs and ensuring materials list are accurate.

  • Before my promotion to supervisor, I worked on both the underground and overhead crews. As a supervisor, I oversaw two service trucks and a contracting crew while maintaining the street lights in town. I managed the Apprenticeship Program. I became familiar with the new OMS system that was being implemented. I started working in GIS and with GIS personnel to field verify the system to mapping. My duties as a supervisor also included customer service by scheduling new connects and small job and troubleshooting customer complaints and problems when crews could not figure things out. I worked in our accounting program software to reconcile invoices by creating requisitions for payment. I completed meter orders in M-Care and became proficient in working in Harris to generate customer orders. I became proficient in City Works to create service request and generate work orders.

Accomplishments

  • Took over the responsibilities of restructuring and managing a new Apprenticeship Program for NBU and San Marcos.
  • Represented San Marcos, NBU and GVEC at Lineman's Rodeos by; competing as an Apprentice, judging, mentoring Apprentices for competition, participating on a three man Lineman team, member of the Advisory Committee, assistant field coordinator and current Board Treasure.
  • Completed a Bachelor's Degree in four years while working full time as a supervisor managing three crews, participating in Lineman's Rodeos, keeping up with the basic household duties and driving my son to baseball practices and games.
  • Proactive in building and performing working relationships between internal company departments to build a team environment and enhance the workflow process.
