Projects

NAND gate SR latch:

Designed and implemented an SR latch circuit to understand basic digital logic principles. This project provided a conceptual understanding of the states of both the set and reset lines when the device turns on, troubleshooting techniques, reading datasheets for each electrical component, and using circuit simulation software to analyze voltage and current through the electronic device.

Clear Set Toggle program (C programming language):

Designed and implemented a program that allowed two numerical inputs from the user and returned a numerical output based on the choice options displayed in the program. This project provided an understanding of defining macros, creating header files, establishing command-line arguments, and implementing the practical use of switch statements, if-else statements, and bitwise operators to manipulate user input.

Extracurricular Activities

Arduino Blink/Pulse Width Modulation workshop:  Participated in a hands-on workshop focused on understanding Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signals and controlling their duty cycles.

  • PWM Signal Manipulation: Developed a conceptual understanding of PWM and its applications in controlling signal characteristics, including duty cycles.
  • Circuit Design: Gained practical experience in designing resistor-LED circuits, enhancing skills in electronic components and circuit interactions.
  • Microcontroller Integration: Connected an Arduino pin to interface with PWM peripherals, facilitating real-time control of LED brightness.
  • Code Analysis and Implementation: Analyzed and modified code within the Arduino IDE, employing two for loops to increment and decrement an integer variable linked to the LED pin.
  • Signal Control: Utilized the analogWrite() function to manage alternating integer values, enabling precise manipulation of duty cycles and AC analog signal emulation.

Arduino 4 Serial Communications workshop:  Participated in a hands-on workshop focused on interfacing integrated development environments (IDEs) with microcontroller peripherals to facilitate simple hardware design.

  • Circuit Design: Collaboratively designed a circuit incorporating resistors, potentiometers, and RGB LEDs, enhancing practical skills in electronic components and their interactions.
  • Microcontroller Integration: Utilized the Arduino Uno's PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) capabilities by connecting three pins to the circuit board, enabling dynamic control of LED colors.
  • Code Analysis: Analyzed and modified C++ code within the Arduino IDE to manipulate integer variables, directly influencing the RGB LED color outputs.
  • Familiarity with IDE Functions: Gained proficiency in essential Arduino IDE functions for serial communication, including Serial.parseInt() and analogWrite(), applicable in various serial communication applications.

Surface Mount Soldering Workshop:  Participated in a hands-on workshop focused on soldering and assembling electrical components on a printed circuit board (PCB).
