  • Under general supervision, performs a variety of manual semi-skilled and skilled duties associated with the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of domestic, reclaimed and agricultural water utility services; and operates and maintains a variety of heavy equipment and hand and power tools and equipment.
  • REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

    Field Maintenance Worker II is the experienced level class in the series, with the ability to more independently perform duties. This class is distinguished from the lower classification of Field Maintenance Worker by the relative independence with which duties are performed. The Field Maintenance Worker II is further distinguished form the Field Maintenance Worker III in that the latter serves as the advanced/journey level in the series, and has regular lead responsibility.

  • • Participates in various activities associated with the cutting, fitting, laying, installation, and repairing of domestic, reclaimed, and agricultural water pipelines, service lines, pumping equipment, and open canals.

      • ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

      • 1 - Worked with IT and Facilities staff to reduce redundancy in field work orders by grouping according to quadrant areas. This allowed Facilities to reduce the amount of site inspection work orders form well over 100 to just 4.

        2 - Implemented a painting program to paint District sites utilizing a Sheriff labor program. With no labor cost to the District, I was able to get all of our Lift Stations and Booster Stations painted.

        3 - Worked with the Districts Planning Committee to move the Halloween and other large events into the Maintenance Shop. This allowed more room and freedom to take on larger group events.
