I am an enthusiastic educator with a high-level expertise in data-driven instruction and motivated to drive student growth for lifelong success. I am dedicated to assisting the principal with building a positive school culture, identifying resources to help staff implement course materials, and have an active role in shaping the vision of the campus.
I am responsible for facilitating the growth of students’ academic achievement and to ensure they are able to meet regular benchmarks set throughout the year. I helped lead staff to incorporate Emergent Bilingual strategies within their teaching practices, create action plans for instructional improvement, and use the DDI process to investigate gaps in student learning. I am also involved in helping other educators use a variety of integrated technology in the classroom as instructional tools, such as Nearpod and Peardeck. I also make sure to establish a good rapport with administration and students as well as maintain my standards for an effective classroom.
I implemented core elementary curriculum based on district TEKS that were aligned with the STAAR exam. I also upheld effective classroom management as a means of establishing desired student behavior and student interaction. The district provided numerous professional development courses which helped me diversify my instruction to reach students with varying cognitive abilities including ELLs and GT kids.
I had taught my students literature and grammar courses, which my classes were designed to expedite their learning comprehension through cooperative learning and researching new and effective teaching strategies. Some of the topics included adverbs, prepositions, classic literature, studying the different tenses, as well as writing essays and strengthening their vocabulary.
Facilitate student understanding of world geography and history through a combination of research and differentiated instruction. I regularly held parent meetings to improve upon child development as well as write lesson plans to insure the students receive an education that will prepare them to become leaders in a globalized world. In addition, I utilized curriculum which reflected diverse educational, cultural and linguistic background of student body.
I administered and provided leadership to a grant program that incorporates adult education, early childhood development and parenting education into a model designed to achieve high literacy standards. I also helped identify and recruit parents in Title 1 elementary areas and coordinate with community resources to provide support services for the families in the program. In addition, I taught a parenting class that helped prepare students for life outside high school, which includes balancing a budget, resume writing, nutrition, and other areas pertinent for success.
