  • As Chevron DEM Program Manager and a member of the Chevron/Arcadis Advanced Supplier Relations Management Team, I set the goal of developing good working relationships with all our Chevron counterparts during the 2019 transitional year.
  • The Chevron DEM Program of Retail and Terminal sites grew from 189 sites in 2018 to 708 sites in 2019, with the goal of working with our Chevron partners to develop strategic portfolios to manage all the sites efficiently and recognize cost savings.
  • Beginning in late 4Q2021 I moved into the Operations Manager role for all five Chevron COPs (2 through 6). This consists of managing approximately 700 R&T and specialty sites, with a focus on reducing Chevron’s liabilities (i.e., achieving case closures), where possible.

  • Arcadis supported the planning and transfer of the environmental management of the 76 PP from ConocoPhillips (COP) to Chevron. This portfolio consists of refineries, pipelines, terminals, service stations and bulk plants located throughout the Western US.
  • A team of Arcadians including John Vogeley, Dave Lay and Poh Boon-Ung began planning and providing data reviews and cost modelling to support Chevron’s negotiations with COP in late 2009 through mid-2010.
  • A Tiger Team consisting of seven Arcadis members and three Chevron members was formed in 2010 to facilitate the transition of the Service Stations and Bulk Plants.

  • Manager for the first portfolio of Chevron R&T sites in California, which began as 7 sites located in the Central Valley region of California in 2007 and more than double that by 2009.
  • Responsible for evaluation and delineation of petroleum impacts in soil, groundwater, and soil gas at various sites; assessment of remedial alternatives and implementation of remedial actions at these sites.
  • Also responsible for senior technical review of all documentation associated with the sites, communication with the project and client teams, and negotiating regulatory closure of the sites.

  • Field manager for the closure and remediation of a large (500+-acre) oilfield.
  • The property had been used for production oil wells and storage of crude oil for more than 100 years and had large-scale oil and inorganic metals impacts to the surface and subsurface soil.
  • Responsibilities included overseeing the excavation and disposal of oil and metals-impacted soils, statistical evaluation of impacted areas, preparing and submitting compliance correspondence to local and state regulatory agencies, and maintaining project billing and budgets.
