Creative leader, public engagement manager and longtime Marion County resident dedicated to showcasing Ocala's unique story with visual tools, social media, creative writing, energy, contacts and a love for the city itself.
I develop comprehensive and creative public engagement strategies for grid-improvement initiatives. I am the public face for many large Duke Energy projects in Central Florida. I lead a team of Public Engagement Managers in four Florida zones and oversee land agents. I love field work, talking to the public and solving problems.
Adjunct professor, feature and magazine writing. I taught online for two semesters and in class for two semesters. I left after accepting a job with Duke Energy.
In my three decades with the Ocala and Gainesville (FL) newspapers, I managed reporters, wrote columns and news stories, covered local government, the arts, growth, crime and poultry anomalies. The job allowed me to cover my beloved hometown, to tell its stories and showcase a city rich in culture and charm. It also provided me with wonderful community contacts and public-speaking opportunities.
I operated a photography studio in downtown Ocala, focusing on weddings, family, seniors and pet portraits. The job allowed me to explore my creative side, create unique Ocala portraits and establish volunteer opportunities via photography.
