I came to the district after 13 years of working in the trades. WPS60 was a customer of mine. I was recruited by one of the district electricians to join the wps60 team.
After joining the maintenance department in 2012, I quickly went right to servicing the schools on my own. I work on every low voltage system here in every building the district has. I pride myself on not needing to hire contractors to do work in my job description.
After 6 years, I was recruited to represent SEIU. I took on this role because I have pride in what I do and what we represent. I later took on the role of Chief Steward. I took this on to improve the services that SEIU members could provide the district. I also took this role on to make sure our CBA was being honored by both parties of the agreement. I take pride in the WPS60 custodial maintenance staff. I have already demonstrated that I will do what it takes to improve the service the department provides to the district.
