- Activities have included the administration of The Fincastle EA (MAP21) Sidewalk Enhancement Project (5 blocks of sidewalk and costs of $708,000 adoption of a historic overlay zoning district for Route220, complete revision and update to the Town’s Comprehensive Plan in2012 and2019, completing the Town’s first boundary adjustment in2018, revival of the Town’s historic Fincastle Festival, creation of new festivals and events including the Fincastle10k, Tinsel Trail and second Saturday with a focus on businesses to support markets, inclusion of the Town into the Main Street Affiliate program, creation of town’s first website and social media presence, ongoing management of grants through the Virginia Outdoor Foundation, Department of Conservation and Recreation for improvements to Big Spring Park and Planning Activities Grant through the Department of Housing and Community Development
